Look no further than the Techreport System Guide. There you will find setups ranging from the budget PC all the way up to the “Money is of little concern” type machines.
I had thought of doing something like this on my own, but these guys do such a great job at laying everything out, it feels redundant to do it myself. Why re-invent the wheel? :-)
