The A-Team – There is no plan “B”

by on Apr.06, 2010, under RETRO Gaming

OK. Totally off topic from the norm on this site. But I want to take you back to the 80′s when a little show called The A-Team aired on Tuesday nights on NBC. Any self-loathing 30/40 something geek who hasn’t heard of The A-Team has probably been living in their mother’s musty basement eating Doritos and drinking Mountain Dew for too long.

The original A-Team cast

Well, there’s a new A-Team movie hitting theaters this year. You can watch the trailers at: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0429493/

The difference between the old series and the new movie, obviously is the new cast. But instead of being framed for commiting crimes in ‘Nam, they were framed while in the Gulf War. And yes, B.A.’s kick-ass black and red van is in the movie. In all, if you are an A-Team fan or just a junkie for anything 80′s, this movie looks cool as hell.

Rampage looks like a poor fit compared with the others.

    Chad:

Yeah, here in Buffalo, NY I watch RTV all the time. The evening program goes something like this:

    7:00pm – Knight Rider
    8:00pm – The A-Team
    9:00pm – Magnum P.I.
    10:00pm – Rockford Files

That’s not including earlier sceduled shows like Adam-12, Emergency and The Incredible Hulk. I’m only 39 and I feel like an old fart! LOL!! ;-)

About the same line up here. Adam-12 and Dragnet still rock too. I am 31 and my wife always make fun of me.

29 here, and grew up on this stuff (some of course on reruns), but I grew up loving Macgyver (have all season except for the movies on DVD), first 4 season of A-Team, first three seasons of Remington Steele, and random other shows seasons I’ve picked up that were cheep. Just picked up the first two seasons of Night Court from amazon for 23 bucks all together.

Currently have a few seasons of Magnum P.I. and Murder, She wrote on netflix instant watch.

ps- I am very conflicting about this movie. I loved G.I. Joe cartoons growing up, but something about the movie has been churning my stomach. Usually I would have the dvd of the movie even if I didn’t think it was great, but I haven’t….. I just don’t know.

GI Joe was a disaster. It was just a complete mess of a movie. Supposedly they used Larry Hama as an advisor on the movie since Larry wrote 90% of the Marvel GI Joe comics series. Not sure how they took Larry’s expansive GI Joe story and twisted it into an utter monstrosity. Transformers are the next thing on my list of franchise disasters. Michael Bay has just pissed me off with his concept of what Transformers is about.

Those other shows you mentioned are all great. I love retro TV.
