The perils of organizing your music collection
by ChangWizzle on Nov.02, 2010, under music

If I had know some years ago when I bought my first iPod that I would wind up re-ripping my whole collection again into mp3s, I would have probably bought something else (or not have been a dumba$$ and ripped it all into AAC in the first place). Turns out my car has a USB port built in. I can plug a regular USB drive in it and it will play whatever I have copied to it. The catch is that it only reads MP3s and WMAs. About 95% of my music is in AAC. >.<
Soooo… I decided to rip it all again into 256k MP3s and FLAC files…. Yeah, I know I’m insane. Thanks for the compliment!
What sucks even more is that I’m just getting started. After fiddling around for 3 or 4 days with numerous ripping and organization programs, I settled on dBpoweramp as my ripper/encoder and Winamp Pro as my player/organizer. Never though I would have used winamp again until I found the android apparently and found that you can do wireless syncing over Wifi.

Tell me how much space your collection is when you’re done. I lost my STUFF drive so my entire collection is gone.
