Torchlight 2 or Diablo 3?
by Firo on Aug.29, 2011, under News
As the release date for both creeps closer, i have to wonder. which one should i get?
Should i get the anticipated Diablo 3 with its $59.99 price tag, always online drm, auction house, no modding support, or lan?
Or should i get the anticipated Torchlight 2 with its $20 price tag, offline mode, modding support, lan, multilayer, but not as good graphics than Diablo 3?

Borderlands getting new patch, getting rid of gamespy and adding steamworks
by Firo on Aug.29, 2011, under News
During PAX prime, Gearbox revealed that a new patch that adds steamworks will be hitting the PC version of Borderlands on September 9. The patch will also introduce cloud saving, and will help test technology (like the one from mass effect 2) that send back data to help their future releases, mainly borderlands 2. The kind of data being sent back are details ike what guns are being used or what areas aren’t seeing any foot traffic.
Dirt 3 Rally
by NotmeyouFOOL on Aug.29, 2011, under Videos
So the video that ChangWizzle posted last week of Dirt 3 convinced me to buy the game which lead me to make my own video. I didn’t use the in game Youtube because it’s slow and pauses the game. I used FRAPS instead. Dirt 3 is by far better then the second one.
EA… UBI… Activision… you should listen!
by BlackThunder on Aug.27, 2011, under News
I guess one reason why I started to play more Indie games is not just the fact that they are quite fun, but it also feels like you are “in touch” with a fellow gamer. With someone that creates a labor of love and not just someone that looks at the bottom line. These fellow gamers, or entusiasts of great game ideas need our support! So don’t be too much on the fence when it comes down to supporting these! Don’t buy Torchlight two on sale, but spend the whole (gasp) $20. Even if you don’t plan on playing the heck out of Red Orchestra 2, consider helping them with $35 so they can make another game that supports dedicated servers, server admin tools, sdk to mod the heck out of their game. Buy SPAZ just and get a second copy free for a friend.
Realize that your money will make a difference! Help yourself 3-5 years down the road when that small dev house makes something that hits your play style even more because they could feed their families!
What made me think of this is kind of the unrelated article on PCGAMER. Talking with Riot games they tickled this little nugget out and I wished that some big companies would listen. You wouldn’t need some crazy DRM, lock me in some software that wants to scan my entire hard drive and be big brother or make sure I have my internet always on because you want a real money auction house. They way you think of your user base makes a difference! To Riot, I am a gamer! To Cliff Harris I am a fan and it shows how he deals with people that want to talk to him.
We had a chance to catch up with Riot Games this year at Gamescom for a chat about the future of League of Legends, and Riot Games’ attitude to players who pick up League of Legends, play it every day, but never buy any items.
“We actually don’t say ‘How can we monetize our users?’ or anything crazy like that,” says Lead Champion Designer Ryan Scott. “We just go ‘How can we make players super happy”’ and then players will buy what they want and then all of our free players are also super valuable because they’re in there, engaged with the game, and in the community. We’re totally fine with that, we love that.”
“We renamed our customer support group “Player Support Group” because we didn’t want to ever give the impression that we only cared about people who paid in the game,” adds Lead Producer Travis George. “People were like “Why did you do that?” and we’re well, it’s because we want that subtle mentality shift to be part of everything we do.”

So it is a new gaming PC. Different from what the prototype looked like, but for the better it seems. I want one!
Really this time!

I don’t know how you could not own Borderlands by now, but maybe you have a friend who doesn’t, a little brother maybe?! Well, you would be silly not to buy this much fun (Borderlands and all expansions) for $7.49. the price of a value meal… wow!
It’s official… I want RAGE now…

Good times, turn up the volume and wave at Kommie.
Howdy Folks – we haven’t decided yet if were going to keep bringing more out, but if we do it’ll be less frequently and they’ll be raw and uncut (so you may hear some language or Kommie’isms that you haven’t heard before.) But this was super fun and good times to be talking gaming again with the crowd from PCPC Games. We covered a ton of topics here and we bounced around quite a bit but in the end it all makes sense.
There were some feedback issues from a few folk, so you’ll probably here a few mic scratches here and there and some open mic feedback, but nothing too bad, just wanted to give you a heads-up.
Enjoy. -Fascinator

A matter of trust…
by BlackThunder on Aug.24, 2011, under News
In the past couple weeks when we talked about Origin vs STEAM and the pros (?) and cons of Battlefield3 on everything but STEAM. I made one very clear point again and again. I trust Valve and I trust STEAM. They have a proven track record on doing “the right thing” for gamers / their customers, added value to my hobby. I said in discussions that I don’t trust EA as far as I can trow a rock.
This is not helping me trust them more and another reason for me not to buy Battlefield 3.
